No-exam life insurance
Eligibility requirements for accelerated underwriting: who qualifies, how the process unfolds, and what happens if you do not qualify.
Many insurers now offer rapid underwriting: within certain age and amount thresholds, they decide using application data, pharmacy records, driving history, and other sources instead of a medical exam. Approval for some applicants happens within twenty-four hours. Each quote here shows whether an exam is required, may be required, or is not needed for that specific product.
What it changes
No exam means no delay in underwriting, but full verification still occurs. A policy issued based on inaccurate information can be challenged during the initial two years. If the carrier's records raise concerns, they may still request lab work or an exam; you can choose to proceed or withdraw.
Who tends to qualify
Usually applicants under age sixty requesting coverage amounts below the carrier's fast-track threshold, with no serious health history and non-tobacco status for a year or more. Some carriers take recent blood work from your doctor in place of an exam.
If required, the paramedical examiner typically visits your Union City home or office for a session of twenty to forty minutes, at no charge to you. For applicants in good health, exam results may result in a better rate bracket, making the exam a possible advantage rather than a drawback.
